Healthwatch Sutton Dementia Pop Up Hub Assessment Report Released

Healthwatch Sutton have released the dementia 'pop up' hub assessment report following a summer series of hubs around Sutton.

In 2018 Healthwatch Sutton, Age UK Sutton, Citizens Advice Sutton, Sutton Carers Centre, Alzheimers Society, Riverside Community Association Ltd and Admiral Nurses (Specialist Dementia Nurse’s) launched dementia pop up hubs which aimed to to help local residents who are living with dementia or would like to find out more about the condition.

The hubs provided an open and accessible space for local people to come and meet other people. Representatives from several organisations were available at each pop up to provide information and advice. There were also presentations on dementia related themes such as power of attorney.

The idea for the project came from a recommendation from the Healthwatch Sutton report ‘Exploring the experience of people with dementia and those who care for them in 2017 which found there was not enough support for those living with dementia and a dementia hub in Sutton would address a lot of the issues identified. You can read the report below.
